Innovation For Health and Development

Innovation For Health and Development is a charity focused on improving public health through innovation and capacity-building in resource-poor settings. Our work creates and implements novel, affordable strategies that improve the lives of those in greatest need.

IFHAD was founded in 2002 by a group of individuals who were motivated by the inequalities in health that are so rampant in the developing world. Today IFHAD is primarily focused on developing, evaluating, and implementing innovative strategies to attack the public health threat of tuberculosis in resource-poor settings, and concurrently building local capacity in public health research.

For several years, our work has been based in Peru, fostering close collaborations with the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and the local health authorities. We hope to expand to network with groups working toward similar goals in other countries, both in South America and worldwide.
